Prof. Jason Mars
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
CEO and Co-Founder of Clinc, Jason Mars was recently recognized as one of the top 10 most innovative CEOs in Banking. He is also a professor of computer science at the University of Michigan (on leave) where he directs Clarity Lab, one of the top labs in the world to be trained in AI and system design. He conducts collaborative research with IBM Watson, Google, Facebook, Intel and the National Science Foundation. Jason has devoted his career to solving difficult real-world problems with AI, computer vision, and natural language processing, at scale. Prior to The University of Michigan, Jason was a professor at UCSD. He has also worked at Google and Intel. Jason’s work in building the world’s first open-source platform for constructing large-scale AI and deep learning-based Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPAs) has been recognized globally and continues to have a significant impact on the tech industry and academia. Jason holds a PhD in Computer Science from UVA. Jason has recently received prestigious awards including ISCA Hall of Fame, Google research Award and National Science Foundation’s Career award.

Dr. Lingjia Tang, COO and Co-Founder of Clinc, is a professor of Computer Science at The University of Michigan. Dr. Tang’s research in building large-scale production infrastructure for intelligent applications is widely recognized and respected in the academic community. In addition to working at both Microsoft and Google, Lingjia received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. Lingjia has 18 major publications, and is an indisputable thought leader in her field. Lingjia has recently received prestigious awards including ISCA Hall of Fame, Facebook Research Awards and Google research Award.

Dr. Michael Laurenzano
Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Michael Laurenzano is the CTO and Co-Founder of Clinc. Mike received his PhD in Computer Science from The University of Michigan, focusing on compilers and run-time systems, and has had over 40 research papers published during his career. Mike earned a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from The University of San Diego, and an MS in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of California, San Diego. Before founding Clinc, Mike was a computational scientist at UC San Diego and the Director of Systems and Architecture at EP Analytics. In addition to his impressive engineering portfolio, Mike is an avid endurance sport enthusiast, having completed an ironman and several ultra-marathons.
Dr. Johann Hauswald
Co-Founder & Chief Architect
Chief Architect and Co-Founder of Clinc, Dr. Johann Hauswald received his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Michigan. Dr. Hauswald earned national attention for his creation of Sirius (now Lucida) the open-source intelligent personal assistant, that he built entirely from the ground up. In addition to English, Johann is fluent in French and German. Previously, Johann received his B.S.E in Electrical Engineering and his M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Michigan.

Dr. Yunqi Zhang
Chief Information Officer
Dr. Yunqi Zhang, CIO of Clinc, received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan. Yunqi's research in architecting highly efficient large-scale data center systems with low response latency is well-recognized in both academia and industry. In his collaborative research with other industry leaders, he has designed, developed and deployed large-scale software systems in production at Facebook and Microsoft. Previously, Yunqi received his B.S. in Software Engineering from Beijing Institution of Technology, and his M.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.
